[WHOOKOS Beta: Epis 3]

There's the funny thing..

Below me is some person called J05H-DA who used numbers in his name which was actually first used by Japanese teenagers...ironic fact number one. Number two is this same person has absolutely nothing on his page of any value. Three is the fact that he/it is commenting on a flash, a.k.a. a cartoon (persay) say seems to believe that it should adhere to real-world events. Yet here is the generic bully #1 on Newgrounds commenting on a flash when, if he doesn't like 'wapanese' then shouldn't have watched it in the first place. Is it just me or is there a crap load of irony here?

But don't you worry (here let me help) Josh, I'll hate you for being you and I expect I am not the only one :D. Now you go back to getting your C's in school and take a job as a janitor at said school, nothing like getting paid by the same district that you nearly flunked at. That or as was once said go play on a freeway.

On to the actual tiny review.

I'll make this short and sweet, once again I'll say that your movement animations need some work, the actually animation of the characters aren't bad, just some parts could use some 1. smoothing out or 2. different move sets. It still has the feel of your classic WHOOKOS and that generally isn't a bad thing. Keep it up.

For some people if a person isn't dead, dying, or otherwise being mutilated, tortured, strangled or in some way, shape or form hurt then some people simply won't laugh.

This episode is fine, I still think you could use some minor work on your movement animations but overall it is very entertaining.

Still worth it

I feel that though the animation could be better on some fronts the story more then makes up for it. Fantastic story and even went so far as to remind me of the Final Fantasy series and some books I have read.

I'll be watching you carefully; praying that this series does not take a wrong turn.

But the sword changes sides not long after the movie starts. o-o

Certainly worth keeping an eye on

Much of what I think should be improved upon is already down below. You may or may not need any ambience in the background, difficult to say on this one, I do believe it was just fine without any real ambience, gives a fantastic sense of suspense and edge-of-your-seat thrills.

I would recommend playing around with your character imaging though. They stand out too much in contrast to the enviroments, very simple shading in relation what the enviroments around them would go a long way. Even shading in a 1-2-3 step process with minor dark/light variations could really help. The overall character presentation is cliche by a tiny amount, the baby wailing, as normal, really adds a good sense of terror in what seems like an otherwise unterrifying world, up until certain areas of course.

But with my experience with WHOOKOS being what it is I can't say I'm at all worried about any of them lol. Pity on the 'monster' which tried to sneak up behind though hehe.

All it all it is a very solid piece with some very defining animation effects, sound quality control and overall presentation of the entire animation in general. Follow some of the recommendations presented by those before me and I do believe that this series could go much much farther. Great job, great atmosphere, and I particulary enjoyed the grain effects used in contrast to the lighting.

++ my friend, fiving it because...well, when everything is all said and done this flash as a tremendous amount of potential and the story, though cliche post-apocalyptic settings, really flows much more smoothly then many full-budget movies I have seen, with less then a candy-store budget to work with.

Great job, I think I speak for many when I say that I will be keeping my eyes on you to see just where you take this. Just don't sit on it forever and a day like so many other potentially great flash animations out there.

Or your expectations were set too high...do that often? ^^;;. Anywho I personally (along with [stares below] 98% of the worlds populace) believe that this is a great top-notch flash. So I really must say that for those that just don't like this series that you people should get some enjoyment out of life because that is, in the end, all these flash movies are about. But to each their own.

Great movie(s) and fantastic job coordinating all the different areas of each. Always be one of my favorites.
