Inculcation

"Hehe"

submission: Inculcation
date: November 2, 2009

Quite good I must say. I'm all for trying new things and I never really manage to get into point-n-click games all that much (just too much bumping around randomly clicking on objects). Thing is you made it fairly clear where alot of things could be found. Bag in the kitchen, hexagonal screwdriver in the ******* ******* (barely see it though, I happened upon it by accident - same with the back of the bus, WHILE the baby was crying...lets just say my mouse button was half clicked down just a-waiting for a ambush xD). The first room sets the mood nicely. Handing out that gun like that was a nice touch and adds to the overall feel of caution and [wtf] is going on in this place. The reaction time needed for the enemies isn't huge and kept me going, which was a fair change. Normally they are too fast or too slow. Felt just right this time around.

Fumbling around for just about anything was half the fun since you always added some kind of explanation for just about anything in the game, even things most people normally wouldn't think of (like the water heater in the kitchen). Might I suggest adding in an option to make all those explanations into completely sarcastic versions? That, of course, should only be unlocked once the game is completed. It would give the person another reason to play through. Perhaps make it so that when they go back through minor things change such as the enemies being the clown or something along those lines. Making this such a horror oriented point-n-click isn't bad but a little secret like that could go a long way I'm better hehe (especially since everybody seems to want a go at that clown lmao).

Now let me see...ah yes, the 90 (sorry people, but its a minor thing to say I think) is incredibly hard to see. I spotted it completely by accident and that was only after searching around for ages just to find it (after I set all the other arrows).

The timing for pretty much everything is spot on. Instead of just having enemies jump out at you at the beginning of the game you have them standing there for a little while giving you time to defend yourself before they rush. The key here is when you try to pick that lock with the bobby pin. Because before that ALL the enemies would give you a second to coodinate yourself into some type of attack (such as shooting them in the "face" >:O) what happened really does alot there (ANNOYING trying to type this without giving anything away D:). The stomach was a fantastic touch. Really smacked me around and had me going around even more cautious then before. Believing that the place was worse than the previous area.

Out of everything though I'd say that when you open the elevator is quite possibly the best part. Easily the most clever out of everything that happened in the game itself that causes you to reel back a bit and wonder what just happened. I even hit the back button to make sure I wasn't supposed to turn around to shoot something coming up from behind XD. Very fine job there, very fine indeed.

Oh, and the baby crying was cliche the first time and really freaky the next (the thing was just a wailing). The settings you placed in for pretty much everything and the areas it was placed were done well. If you are like me and search around everywhere in any game due to the fact that you are a collection junkie in games then this one is a good one for that. The manniquin bit me seeing it the first time then another (or the same hoho) in the same room as the bus. Somewhat confusing but considering the entire game is a large puzzle I'd say it wasn't too bad overall.

Beaten in 34min, 2 deaths (I sneezed with one life bar left and that ceiling smushed me :[...damn the sneeze...funny I noticed the ceiling...kinda curious as to what would happen if I kept the bag at 1.5KG hehe...maybe the ceiling would just fall suddenly lol. Second run through in around 4min, one death (timed that darn statue wrong).

I summary:

Excellent timing: 10/10
Atmosphere: 10/10
Idea: 9/10
Sound: 9/10
Flow: 9/10
Overall: 9/10...ish round up?

Turn Based Battle!

First off SSJ I'll just say that trust me, he won't have to defend himself here. This is a spoof of sorts, a parody of all the generic crap every RPG has, especially the ones that hail directly from Japan. But sht man, let me make this short and sweet so that you'll understand it. This is not a stolen idea, saying this is a stolen idea would be like saying that say...Dragon Quest stole its style from Final Fantasy or something similar. This is simply something this guy did in his free-time because he felt like a laugh or two. It certainly has the humor and the long-ass battle just adds to it overall.

Anywho guy, this isn't a bad game. Ignore the idiot below me, he's just some random who thinks he knows what he's talking about. :)

There She Is!! step3

"@liger-1"

Or your expectations were set too high...do that often? ^^;;. Anywho I personally (along with [stares below] 98% of the worlds populace) believe that this is a great top-notch flash. So I really must say that for those that just don't like this series that you people should get some enjoyment out of life because that is, in the end, all these flash movies are about. But to each their own.

Great movie(s) and fantastic job coordinating all the different areas of each. Always be one of my favorites.

Contest Entry - Last Hope

"Hmm.."

date: August 10, 2009

You get points for everything coming together well. The idiots below only look at how nothing is filled in and there is no voices etc etc. They don't look at the idea and I really enjoy what is done already and what could be done. Keep it going, this could likely become one of newgrounds best if you did it right.

Cooking Sama

"So many references"

submission: Cooking Sama
date: June 9, 2009

Ok, so maybe the humor could've been a little more deep, but for the most part it was great. Simple yet compelling animation, great (japanese) voice over work with good mouth coordination relating to the words. The theme from Azumango Dioh was a nice touch and threw out a little nostalgia for me and the airplane with the Lucky Star characters in it made me give a thumbs up. Pre-Tent. rape at the end threw me off, but the animation of the characters was top notch there and matched the sounds perfectly. All in all its great, minor flaws, but done very very well.

5'd and fav'd. Good job...

Drunken Stick

"Well.."

submission: Drunken Stick
date: May 12, 2009

It wasn't perfect, the Drunken Art style I mean, some things just didn't flow as well either. But it was very well done, especially for a stick animation...a person would have to try hard to do better actually.

Bit short, which is unfortunate, I was pretty much expecting some kind of boss battle in there somewhere, but in the end it was good.

Oh, btw, great job using the chair...don't see that often :3

@MightyManlyPants
"This is bs, has everyone lowered thier standard. Its a good flash but not a 4.44"
*Gives it a 4/10*

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wonder what standards you are rating it on mm? The old KK submissions HA! As a fellow artist, albeit not one with enough patience for flash, I will say that this art style isn't easy. Fewer frames then were needed perhaps but the message was brought across just fine, BETTER in some cases then if it was made to look more fluid. In other words it fit the style AND the feel of the flash quite well. The music really flowed well with the flash (or Vice Versa) and it is simply a fun thing to watch in all.
This is a high four/low five for me, but imma be nice and 5 it. Great job, the art, though not top notch, was good nonetheless. The sounds fit well in a ol' school way and the music drew you in wonderfully. Good job.
Yoyo vs FLLFFL
"Well now..."
submission: Yoyo vs FLLFFL
date: May 12, 2009
First off *points downward* just because this is his second POSTED flash doesn't mean that he hasn't done quite a few beforehand.
Anywho, that was quite good, it rivaled the ancient Xiao battles and threw in a story as a little backdrop. In the end the animations were smooth, the tricks were crazy and the humor was fine. A good flash all in all, I wouldn't mind seeing more from you.
Fav.d for now, show me that I wasn't mistaken.
2 - The Story of Khale
"Heh"
date: March 31, 2009
An absolutely fantastic world full of limitless possibilities. In the beginning it felt like the beginning of your classic video game but it soon brought me into a world full of imagination and pure story. The stuff of fantasy and dreams. You have made the World of Khale and his story into something that is truly real and fantastic. I, my friend, salute you along with the hundreds of others that would do the same.
Keep them coming and may you continue to get better and better.
Everything by Everyone
"Well this is rare..."
date: March 28, 2009
I never write reviews...for flash or for music. But I am an artist, not a flash artist mind you, but your average everyday artist of basic ability. I will state that you must polish this up, put some real work into it before someone else does. Excellent job as it is, the music fits the theme of the flash and the flash depicts what the music says flawlessly. Very well done and good choices for the characters.
If you remake this spend some extra time on it, but for 8-9 days this is very well done indeed.
I salute you,
