First time in awhile

That something like this has made me want to get back into remixing myself. If I do maybe I'll actually get up off my ass and try this time.

We'll see.

Thanks for this upload. WORTH the listen without a doubt!

I am glad that I could inspire you with this mix.
Thanks for listening, the awesome review and adding Messany Recordings to your favorite audio artists :)

Not bad...but

The tune itself is wonderful but the percussion HAS to be stronger! This is NOT a piece but right around the middle of the song or about 3/4 of the way through the background has to pick up. You could get much higher reviews and rating just by doing this. If you want some help with where the percussion could go or what to throw in there please ask and I'll do what I can. Hit me up at ghost_matter@hotmail.com and remind me of the song itself so I can listen through it again. I value myself on being able to know exactly what a song could use, though I am not always able to pull it off myself.

ZaronX responds:

Really wasn't after strong percussion on this. It's distant, mechanical, and simply rhythmic.

That said, it's really interesting to see what parts of a song people choose to focus on. There's a lot of variety there!

~~~
The piece is well put together but that horrible chorus is killing the mood D=
Not sure what program you use but you'll need a better chorus by far.
Heat-Flare responds:
I agree. Unfortunately, 5 years ago this was the only chorus I could work with. I plan to remake it eventually. Stay tuned.
Haha :)
Ahhaaa now this rare. From the intro to the outro you really sit in on the essence of what a video game piece should sound like. It has a feel that needs no explaining at all and produces an image in ones mind very quickly. But it is not until the 01:21 mark that the song really picks up its pace and introduces you to what I like to call the "Kingdom Hearts" style of music. In that I mean the feel of it and this, like many KH songs, could go just about anywhere.
Good job :)
ChaosDragon004 responds:
A true compliment. Thanks for that bro, sometimes words can inspire more that music can. Thanks again.
Well now..
Ah how rare, I've missed an artist worth mentioning. Let me run on through here...basic summary bit tired.
The introduction was quite something. The fade in threw me off at first, not something you hear alot nowadays but that moved straight into the 'skippy' voice which caught my ear and kept me listening. I know Cascada very well (not personally lol) and I will say that you did this piece a great justice. Many areas were added or improved upon to the point that I am going to download this one and attempt to figure out which one I like more, the original or this remix...I'm betting on the latter.
My only real complaint is it sounds a bit...shall I say soft. The voice is fine, clear, sharp, it sounds just fine. But much of the background feels a bit squishy x.x. Almost muffled, somewhat like what you'd hear if you were in another room hearing this with the vocalist in the same room as you and the instruments in another. Meh, it could just be me, it certainly wasn't a problem throughout the entire song but I noticed and intentional or not I gave my opinion.
9/10 for what truly sounds like a professional remix is quite good either way. Props to you.
Can't wait till I get FL Studio back >.> Its been too long.
Pixelsaur responds:
Thank you for the very lengthy and thorough review. On the soft thing, I think I lowered the master too much on this. It sort of made the finer details blend together, if you know what I mean. Thanks for your very informed point, appreciate it!
Boo hehe
Alright, I started at a 7 initially then 00:11 hit and not long after you get the (very tired so Imma just ignore the instrument names lol) string pluck with the...I want to say Bright Piano, bleh. Anywho, the pace almost forces you to sit down and listen further on into the song and the strings, though not the best in my opinion the...cello? viola? bleh don't ask I can't remember sht right now feels slightly low pitched at some points. As usual I have to point out that a nice choir, hold on 02:00 hits with a new part that actually really fills out this piece, anywho as for the choir I felt that a light choir is in order here, it would have really brough an already great emotional piece to a climax much higher then it reached.
Overall the presentation is well thought out, the timing nearly flawless and the soul crying out for everyone to listen. But you didn't get a 10/10 because it feels just a little empty to me. 00:42 or 01:02 might have both been good placing to introduce a light, airy choir, but meh...go back and fix it and I'll forgive you :).
Good piece, it really holds a persons attention for a slower piece and the lack of repetitive draws is really nice. Around 02:00 is an area that I felt hit upon the soul of this piece much more then anywhere else, but that is just opinion of course.
Fav'd, 9/10, 5/5
Thanks for the review =). haha the review is kinda keven bacon'd out because of the april first trick... Damn you NG LMFAO. Not every song can be epicly epic. Hehe some have to be sad and emo!!! This is our EMO SONG lol
-looks at votes- ooook...I'll just ignore that...
First off this is quite the piece, its all over but in this case thats a good thing. I noticed some repetition in the piece...but in the end all the good things override the bad so I can't really say much. I don't think that score (at the time of this writing it is at a 4.98 w/ 31 votes) is...how to say it, real...but who am I to judge.
4ing ya, not my type so no download here but it is good nonetheless.
F-777 responds:
Hey thanks for the awsome review =).
Ya this style isn't very normal i can see
how you might not like it and ya it is
repetitive.
31 votes = msn friends =).
Thanks for your time and awesome review!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...yep
First off, IT LIKES THAT ONE [ONE] (ONE) <-are you getting the idea here? IT LIKES TO REPEAT THE BACKGROUND BEAT TOO MUCH. But, it is a good beat, so you only lose a point there. Your timing in this song is near impeccable, only one area that could have been better, but that area tends towards creating a nitch in the brain that I just kinda try to ignore it ^^. Saying Psychadelic in the song is a no-no here, you may think it sounds good but something else could have been better. It has the reverse effect and makes the song less-so. Your intro was great and unique...if a little obviously played out. When you/that thing says >life< life> you should have jumped over to the left side headphone as well and ended with the echo bouncing back and forth between the two sides. Heck, having the voice feel like its 'walking' from one side of the speaker set to the other would have really been trippy if done right. I could go on...but I am tired and this is a good song.
Oh, btw, I downloaded this and was decided to be nice and 5/5 it as well. It is a high-four for me but hell, I feel generous. Good-luck with it! ;D
la-yinn responds:
Thanks a bunch for the detailed review! ^_^
I'll see what I can do. I was pondering whether or not to make the delay jump from left to right and back but decided against it at the time. I'll try it out though.
Sitting here...chilling...and WHAM
Ok, imma just chill here, listen to the first minute or so, oh nice piano really gets the feel...ok, windy...windy....01:15 brings in some nicely panned strings and a catchy if mysterious piano...still chilling. Ok, chilling........WHOA WTF DID THAT...ahem, ok then, 01:50 or so it hits into a slightly chilly step vibe with that percussion, not bad, I could hang with this, throw in some strings and maybe a choir...owait here we go. Ah, great job on the background choir here, it blends nicely with the strings and fits as a wonderful cover for the percussion. Your ending creeps in on the bones and feels like it could have been persuaded to have been better overall. But in the end it is a decent song...just lacking in some regards.
-CoS-O-
zeroslugfm responds:
appreciate the feedback. To say I didn't put in a transition for the main chorus...well it's pretty obvious. I had a few pieces in the works but didn't quite fit and were cut to get the demo out. I'll definitely work on the things you hit on there.
Hmm...
The intro was interesting and kept me going simply because I wanted to hear what would come. At first I thought that it wasn't really going anywhere and when it did drop down it threw me off for a moment and I wasn't sure what I was hearing. Slightly past the one minute mark you simply repeat the same set over and over while leading into a more complex them based around...well...I am not completely sure what that instrument is. Anywho, middling out I find that you bring in a more calming feel and a basic area which leads into more repeating. Thing is the repetition in this song isn't bad, it keeps you going but frankly I started getting bored just after the middle of the track as it felt like it slid back into an area that was already visited and all the sites were seen already. I can really see this turning from an Ambient track into something with more of a epic classical feel or simply a classical feel period. Not bad, not bad at all.
-AJ-
Oh, and the ending to this piece is horribly lacking. It shuts down far too fast. Might I suggest something like placing the reverbed piano/thingy that was used in the beginning in the end and letting it fade/echo away. It would really help.
djeff responds:
Thanks for your comment, I will do more variation in my song.
Ok, so the world does not know my name. But there are those around me that do...and in the end that is all I need...
